2:45 - 4:30Affordable Care Act Session 1
Obviously the ACA is the biggest issue facing compliance professionals. In this first of 3 ACA sessions will focus on two of the principal ACA issues facing firms today:
- In-depth employer pay or play strategies
- Implications of change to small group definition
Then we will open up the session to a Q&A so that attendees can discuss other important ACA issues.

In our second ACA session we will go into great detail on defining full-time employees and counting hours of service.

Employers are struggling to understand how to manage the upcoming ACA reporting requirements. The last ACA specific session will review these rules, and even more importantly discuss strategies to help clients deal with this difficult issue.

Bob Seng J.D., one of the country’s leading ERISA and benefits attorneys, will discuss the details of the American Benefit Council’s public policy strategic plan “2020 Vision - Flexibility and Future of Employee Benefits". Bob was one of the co-authors of this important report which was presented to the National Press Club in 2014 and will serve as a key discussion document for future benefits policymaking at the federal level.

10:30 - noonAggregated Group Rules and Discrimination Testing
Employers need to understand if they are part of a controlled group or affiliated service group for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that it must be included in the ACA reporting beginning in 2016. Mark Major J.D. will review how to determine when separate employers need to be treated as an "Aggregated Group" based on the IRS §414 rules. We will also review §105(h) non-discrimination rules.

In a program during lunch we will look into ways for your firm to perform a comprehensive compliance assessment for existing clients and prospects.

We will discuss the recent EEOC proposed guidance for employer sponsored wellness plans.
1:30 - 2:15 DOL Audits
Mark Major has assisted a number of employers with working through a DOL benefits audit. In this session Mark will describe the process and help you understand how you can assist your clients.
2:15 - 2:30Break
2:30 - 3:30Discussion of Specific Compliance Case Studies
We will present actual compliance questions and issues that we have worked on with employers and will encourage the group to participate in coming up with solutions to solve the clients problems.
